Summer Gusher Series at Spindletop Boomtown Museum
Date(s): Now through Sunday, Aug. 3, Noon - 3 p.m. Location: Spindletop Boomtown Museum
Check out the Summer Gusher Series at Spindletop Boomtown Museum, where visitors get to experience a re-enactment of the Lucas Gusher for FREE. LU students, faculty and staff also receive free museum admission during normal operating hours, so be sure to stop by. Admission is not required to see the gusher.

National Stuttering Association Beaumont/Lamar Chapter Meeting
Date: Thursday, July 3, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Location: Virtual on Zoom
If you stutter, you are not alone. It’s estimated that over 160 Lamar faculty, students, and staff share the common experience of stuttering. Come join our support group, a proven way to build self-confidence, practice speaking, and explore ways to cope with stuttering.

Scooter Policy
The LU parking office has added a scooter policy to their rules and regulations. Please register your scooter with the parking office and follow all rules and regulations to avoid confiscation. More information? Contact parking@lamar.edu.

Event Parking Form
The parking department has created a Parking Event Request Form to provide an easy way to request gates to be raised or cones to be placed to reserve spots for your event. Please fill the form out at least three days prior to your event. Contact the parking office if you require event parking permits.

Dr. Jeff Forret's Book Receives Honors from Texas Institute of Letters
The Texas Institute of Letters named Dr. Jeff Forret's latest book, "The Price They Paid: Slavery, Shipwrecks, and Reparations Before the Civil War" (2024), an honor-winner in the Carr P. Collins Award for Best Book of Nonfiction category. The Texas Institute of Letters is a nonprofit honor society founded in 1936 to celebrate Texas literature and recognize distinctive literary achievement. More information can be found .
